Biography
Nolan James is an original, instrumental guitarist performing throughout the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Music has been his driving force and primary focus for the last decade. It’s only been about two years since Mr. James has really stepped out to perform live, which was set off by a 2010 New Year’s resolution to get out, and share his musical creations. The response to his grooves has been tremendously positive, and he has not looked back since. In the past couple years Nolan has performed twice on twincitiesradio.net for live audio/video performances broadcast via the internet, as well as performing two live sessions on KFAI Radio’s “Live from Studio 5”. He also traveled to Montreal, Canada to perform with and display Tim Reede Custom Guitars at the annual guitar show, which takes place alongside the famous Montreal Jazz Festival.
Nolan James is currently recording his first full length album entitled “Sounds of Source” which will be released in early March, 2012. The album will consist of his original, instrumental compositions and will be a compilation of his best work. Nolan often uses loopers when writing, performing and recording, to create layers of guitar and percussive beats, which are always done live and on the spot. His music is definitely intended to be seen live.
Everything is in line to assure that 2012 is the most fun and successful year to date, with an intense focus on recording, releasing and performing more music than ever before. On September 7th, 2011 Nolan James became a father to an amazing baby girl named London Joy. She has added new meaning, clarity and a greater depth to his passion and his life. This year will be an incredible year, one that will continue to lay the foundation for a truly extraordinary journey. Enjoy the ride!
